Linux Distributions

Linux, unlike other operating systems such as Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac OS, is not controlled by a single organisation - it is actually a collection of the "Linux Kernel", a variety of utilities and libraries from the GNU operating system and collection of other programs/applications. These are then "packaged together" and distributed/sold by various companies such as RedHat (under their RedHat Enterprise commerical brand or via their free Fedora or Centos brands), Debian (which then 'sub-packaged' to produce the popular Ubuntu collection), Yellow Dog, Slackware and many others.

Beebware has experience of working on Debian, Fedora, RedHat and Centos based systems - however, since the majority of Linux distributions are quite similar we are reasonably comfortable supporting other distributions as well.

Linux server administration

We have experience in installing, managing/administrating and support over 30 Linux based servers at a time - each hosting between 5 and 5,000 internet websites! We can help you administer and support your collection of Linux servers - whether they are web servers (running Apache), mail servers (running Exim, Courier, Cyrus IMAP, Dovecot, qmail or Sendmail) with and without anti-spam capabilities (such as SpamAssassin, Vipul's Razor and MailScanner), web hosting servers (running cPanel, Ensim, Webmin or Plesk) or just a file server running Samba or NFS.
